National Tell A Joke Day is August 16.
Jokes are believed to have been a part of history since 1900 B.C. There is some suggestion that the joke was created by the Greek hero Palamedes, who outsmarted Odysseus during the Trojan War. There is little evidence to support this claim, but it could be funny.

What is a joke?
The structure of a joke isn’t set in stone. Initially, jokes were funny stories or accounts, either written or verbal. The comical situation would usually end with a punchline.
My favorite definition is: something said or done to provoke laughter or cause amusement.
People who enjoy funny things prioritize humor and permit themselves to laugh.
A sense of humor can mean either being funny or enjoying funny things.
Humor has an almost anesthetic quality, it lowers the focus on pain and allows us to remember the joys in life.
When telling a joke remember, if it makes you smile, it could make others laugh. Practice will help. Timing is everything.
Jokes should be setting-appropriate, and the golden rule is to avoid being offensive or insensitive.
Do not take jokes too seriously, they are jokes.
If you aren't comfortable telling a joke, act silly, make a funny face, and make someone laugh. It is all about the laugh and the smile, not the joke.

Exercise for those over 50 (seniors)
do these exercise three times a week.
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-pound potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can.
Try to reach a full minute, then relax. Each day, you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-pound potato sacks. Then use 50-pound potato sacks, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-pound potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.
Wait for it......
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.
