Often we use these terms interchangeably but they are different. Let me explain...
Flexibility is the ability of muscle and connective tissue to passively lengthen allowing for a range of motion at the joint. It is a component of mobility.
Mobility is the ability of joints to move actively through ranges of motion. It involves flexibility, stability, and strength both muscularly and neurologically. Just because you have good flexibility does not mean that you have good mobility. Good mobility often involves several joints moving in harmony and control.
In the Core and Body Pump classes, we work on improving your mechanical ability. That's multi-joint movement or mobility. The body does not move in unconnected parts - all are inter-related.
